The Science of Beauty

Allure is one of the biggest and best-recognized beauty magazines in the US. This beautiful brainchild of Condé Nast has almost 5 million readers and a digital reach of 6.3 million.

Setting the perfect base.

The editors of the magazine already had a podcast in production when they approached us. The Science of Beauty was attracting a solid listener base, and listeners loved hearing about the at-home beauty projects bravely undertaken by hosts Michelle Lee and Jenny Bailly. For Season 2, the team at Allure were looking for high-quality audio, an organized process of production, and the help of experienced professionals to help their concept shine.

We laid out a timeline that streamlined their existing process and established a clear line of communication. Having a direct point of contact helped us make decisions and audio edits with less downtime, speeding up production by weeks.

Shorter production stretches gave everyone more time to focus on content and creativity.

We got to work writing narrative scripts and ad copy, and creating soundscapes that slayed. We selected social media bites that stood out, and our design team came up with bright, captivating content (we even got in on the fun) that got Allure’s 940,000 followers talking. And putting on lots of face masks.

Not only did the episodes get that extra polish but the team at Allure also found more time for experimentation. This is a science podcast, after all.

Curious to hear what a tightening, purifying face mask sounds like?
